Four little Monkies Running Wild
I'm suppose to be writing essays but whatever, I want to procrastinate and blog about family like John and Ariel.
Down the Deep End
I think I've reached the point where I have so much work to do that I'm just ignoring everything. I've been so unwilling to do any kind of work that I've even put off blogging/writing in my diary, which is weird for me since documenting stuff down is like eating for some people.
How to know when you've been writing too many essays lately:
When you spot this sentence in your essay and you go WTH was I thinking??
Amazing love, I know it's true
Hullo blog,
So now that I am old, my grandma brought up a serious topic during dinner at Mandarin. She very seriously said: “Ann, you have to get married within two years.”
To which I responded, “I won’t even be done school then.”
She says, “But you should have kids before you’re 30. And I want to meet your boyfriend.”
Matthew, who had his face buried in the massive heap of food on his plate, pipes up and says, “Yunchi is no more!”
My grandma looked appalled. “Halla!* You guys broke up?!? When!”
“It’s very mysterious. Yunchi just disappeared.” Matthew says all mysterious like before continuing to stuff his face.
Apparently, I have a boyfriend named Yunchi who disappeared out of nowhere. Who knows what that’s about.
But even though I’m not going to take what my grandma says seriously because:
1) She never threatened me
2) Who gets married when they’re 24? (That’s like … Hannah getting married … you’re too young Hannah!)
it made me think of why I’m most likely going to disappoint my grandma by not tying the knot at the ripe old age of four and twenty:
1) I have no prospects
2) I haven’t met my Filipino fob yet
3) I have no prospects
But when I do get married, whenever that may be, I want to be just like Simon and Martina!
They're this awesome couple who went to U of T for English and are now in Korea teaching. They post youtube videos of their time there and random Korean stuff. They're best friends who go on adventures together with their green tailed dog.

Can't wait to be Mrs. Ann Oying. Get it? Hardee har har ... ok lame joke.
*Halla/hulla/?!? is something like ‘Egad!’ It’s a random thing my grandma always says when she’s in shock.
Barfday
I feel guilty because on two separate occasions tonight, Ariel and Hannah asked me what was wrong, and I either ignored them or answered nothing.
Like Big Rolling Kegs
I just had a very failed moment.
Tick Tock on the Clock, But the Party won't Stop, Noo-oO-Oo
I usually stay up late at night because I 'supposedly' get the most work done at this time. But I'm starting to think that this is just an excuse to stay up late at night because I'm too lazy to go to bed (taking laziness to a whole new level).

Hey Guys,
The Dog with a Bad Bark
Today's perpetually terrible weather of half rain half snow, which eventually just turned into plain rain, made me realize two things:
Leadership
Coincidentally, the essay I’m writing this week is whether or not it is necessary for a good king to be a good person, which relates to what John’s latest ramble (I mean, um, well executed and coherent blog post. Only kidding with you John, heh heh) was about.
The constitution of a great leader involves many aspects. Lately, I’ve come to realize that an important trait to have is to have good rhetoric in order to emotionally engage the people you are addressing. An over used example of a person who used rhetoric to his advantage would be Hitler.
I wish I had good rhetorical skills so everyone I talk to will think I’m always right, even if I’m absolutely wrong.
Me: Good friends, sweet lovers, I stand before you today to speak of the ignorance we have lived under. Do not rush in a sudden wave of revolt. We should take this ignorance to our advantage to educate those in the dark. They don’t know about our private grieves, but it’s time to make it plain and blunt to them. I love rice, and you love rice, and this is something you and I both know. The plain fact is, rice grows under the sun. Now friends, do not stir from what I have to say next – the sun, as we all know is yellow. But where I the sun, and the sun me, there is only the colour yellow. Give rise to your spirits and put these words on your tongue: people say Asians are yellow because we need the yellow sun to grow rice, which we eat a lot of.
Friend: That makes absolutely no sense.
You guys get the point.
But being rhetorical doesn’t answer whether or not it’s important for a good king to be a good person. My personal thought on this is ‘no.’ You can’t be a good person and a good king at the same time.
Fictional Example: (because I can’t think of a non-fictional example…)
Henry from Shakespeare’s Henry V. Henry is good at manipulating people’s thoughts and minds, even that of his enemies, which if you think about it, is not a very nice thing for someone to do. But Henry is heroic, although ruthless. He abandons his friends, and puts them to death in order to uphold the law. He knows he is responsible for an entire nation, so he puts his personal feelings and conscience aside to do what is best.
Being a good king means you might be lonely since your position will keep you from being a likable man.
So that’s my two cents. Tomorrow is the start of lent, and although I’m not Catholic, I am going to be giving up meat for ethical reasons. I can already tell this is going to be painful. I’m going to gorge on roast beef as a farewell meal.
Overflow
Out of sheer boredom and curiosity, I googled 'Why Asians ...' and saw that some of the top searches were:
Yellow T-Shirts
Mary came to LH the other night. I haven't had a chance to talk to her since then until today at work.

Abandon Ship
I've always been a fan of regency novels, which was most of what I read back in high school, especially ones that were geared for teens such as Victoria and the Rogue, and Nicola and the Viscount by Meg Cabot. This came in handy, especially since most of the novels I have to read for my classes are from the Victorian period in England.
Laziness Prevention Action Plan
As is obvious, I love blogs and blogging, which is why I’m super happy that everyone has been blogging a lot lately. Whoooo. =D
Also, as you guys are aware, I have been battling laziness for over 20 years. Though I haven’t been able to come up with a cure as of yet, there are some ways to prevent laziness from impacting your life:
Laziness Prevention Action Plan
1) Drink lots and lots of coffee. Actually, any kind of caffeinated drink will do, just don’t drink too much Red Bull at once or else you’ll get a heart attack. My personal choice is coffee though, since Red Bull tastes like cherry cough syrup to me. Consuming caffeine will make you extra hyper-productive, sitting still watching T.V will no longer be an option because you’ll be too jittery.
The ideal time in the day to drink coffee would either be in the morning, or if you’re a sleepaholic like I am, to drink it before bed. Why? This brings me to point number two.
2) If one of the more severe symptoms of laziness in your life is sleeping too much, something I suffer with constantly, there are several ways to prevent this.
i) Live with really loud people.
ii) Go to bed earlier.
iii) Drink coffee before going to bed. If you’re like me and you can fall asleep in any situation, drinking coffee before bed will prevent you falling into deep sleep which will help you wake up earlier in the morning.
3) Surround yourself with people who are not lazy. Need to nerd out? Study in the library where everyone else is studying, that way their productive brainwaves will hopefully have an impact on you. Need to do well in school? Don’t go to U of T.
4) Drink lots and lots of water, that way you’ll be constantly running to the bathroom, which would account for ‘exercise.’ Studies have shown that people who exercise are not prone to being lazy.
I hope these tips will help you guys.
Good luck.
