Things we can do to help save the polar ice caps/glaciers/ice sheets in the Antarctic:
1) Change light bulbs
Incandescent light bulbs waste a lot of energy while producing more heat than light. Compact fluorescent light bulbs use less energy and produce the same amount of light.
2) Unplug electronic devices when they are not being used
Such as cell phone chargers, hair straightners, toaster and even your TV when it’s not being used. These unused electronic devices uses up to 10% of your electricity.
3) Buy a Hybrid Car
Hybrid cars uses both electricity and gas and produce less air pollution
4) Buy appliances that use up less energy
There are existing technology today that uses up less energy, examples would be energy efficient washers and dryers as well as refrigerators.
5) Reduce your carbon footprint
-Reuse and recycle
-Use Reusable water bottles rather than plastic ones
-Turn of f the lights in a room when you’re not in there.
-Take public transportation, walk or use a bike instead
-Increase your plant consumption (more energy is being used to produce meat than plants)
-Buy local products/foods that are more in season.
